ProTip #1: Turn Your Lights Off!

Since the blog is named after this tip, I figured it would be the best way to kick off our weekly tips.

So much of this game is based on the element of surprise.  It may not seem like it at first glance, but it heavily favors those who initiate combat from an effective distance.

So in the spirit of maintaining the element of surprise, the very first thing you do when you spawn a vehicle is to TURN OFF YOUR HEADLIGHTS.  Leaving these on, especially at night, is going to make you and those around you glowing targets that enemy Armor and Aircraft can spot from a mile away.

With the default keybindings, you can turn you light off by hitting the 'L' key.

That wasn't so hard, was it?

Welcome to TYLO!

My name is Bill, and welcome to "Turn Your Lights Off!"  And my goal is to give the readers a few tips and tricks to help them out in Planetside 2.

On the whole, Planetside 2 can be overwhelming.  There's so much going on in the game, and almost no way for new players to get a hold of that information.  On top of that, there's a lot of tricks in the game that isn't super intuitive, but will greatly improve gameplay for you (and the people around you).

When I play, I spend most of my time as Fricassee, a Terran Engineer on Waterson (US East) as part of the Imperial Reach outfit.  You may have heard of them from the wonderful ReachCast Podcast (and if not, you should give it a listen).  I've made blogs in the past, and I started this one in hopes of growing the community for Planetside.

Enjoy!
